COP22 Opportunity for Morocco to Make Africas Voice Heard AfDB President

Rabat – COP22 will be an opportunity for Morocco to make the voice of Africa heard in environment, President of the African development Bank group (AfDB), Akinwumi Adesina, said.The organization of the 22nd Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22) in Morocco will enable Africa, a continent vulnerable to climate change, to address several issues that affect them closely, Adesina said at an expanded meeting with several ministers.In this respect, he commended the efforts made by Morocco, a “leading country” in terms of renewable energy, environment management and the fight against climate change, noting that AfDB has contributed to financing the solar project “Noor” in Ouarzazate, which illustrates the determination of the Kingdom to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and to use more renewable energy to move towards low carbon development.
