Tucker Found Two Weeks After Accident

first_imgWe reported two weeks ago today that the Wiesneth’s Class A motorhome had been struck head-on at mile 2 of the Kenai Spur Highway, killing the Colorado couple inside a white pickup. Charles and Robin struggled to pick up the pieces. While most items could be repaired or replaced, it was the loss of their family pet which kept the Wiesneth’s in Soldotna, searching the highway for hours… Robin said a trip to the vet this morning will finally end their vacation. She wrote Tucker appears “tired and skinny but he’s otherwise in good health.” FacebookTwitterEmailPrintFriendly分享It was the ending Robin Wiesneth barely held out hope for… Five-year-old Tucker, a black and white tuxedo cat, was found last night, just hours before she and her husband, Charles, planned to fly home to Florida. This isn’t the first time the Kenai Peninsula has rallied to find a pet missing from a serious accident; in October of 2013 Indy, a rescued pit/boxer mix, was found after a late-night single vehicle accident claimed the life of one of her owners. Yesterday, the first hint of good news surfaced; someone at Buddy’s Garage in Soldotna reported a possible Tucker sighting. A search party gathered and Tucker was reunited with his family. Tucker had been sitting on Robin’s lap at the time of the accident, but disappeared in the chaos of the 6-hour road closure. Kenai Peninsula residents formed search parties, but time was running out. The couple was set to fly back to Florida today (Wednesday). Wiesneth: “He’s just vanished into thin air. Our two choices are: he’s somewhere in the coach and we can’t find him, or he went through the windshield at the time of impact and somehow made it to the other side of the road, in which case he could be okay, or he could be injured.”last_img read more
